Martyn was taken on by the late Mrs Redgrave in 1998 at the acclaimed The New Craftsmen Gallery St Ives. He then started to exhibit alongside the artists which had inspired him such as, Sir Terry Frost, Matthew Lanyon, John Miller and Patrick Heron.

Martyn has since then gone on to exhibit his art in exhibitions around the world. His last mixed exhibition was at The Manyoung Gallery in Melbourne.

 He now has private collectors and a dedicated following. His clients include The Rothchilds, Lady Spencer, Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen, Vanessa Redgrave, HSBC Bank and Morgan Stanley.
