Martyn Dempsey

Martyn Dempsey has spent over twenty-five years in pursuit of what coastal light actually looks like — not as a postcard, but as a lived experience. Trained at the St Ives School of Art and later at the D'Arte Toscanella School in Florence, his mixed media canvases move between seascapes, wildflowers, and abstract forms with the ease of someone who has genuinely resolved the question of style.

Under his Dempsey Designs studio, he produces cast brass sculptures — crabs, lobsters — made from hand-drawn illustration and brought to life through traditional sand-casting. He divides his time between Cornwall and Sri Lanka, where winters become paintings.
