Charlotte Elizabeth
Before she painted skies on canvas, Charlotte Elizabeth painted them on a far larger scale- as a scenic artist for London's West End, her work hung behind productions at the Royal Opera House. The discipline of painting at that scale, for the audience, left its mark.
A relocation to Asia became the turning point. Distance from the work she had always known gave her the clarity to pursue her own. Her Singapore Skies series, and the moonscapes that followed, move between drama and stillness with the assurance of someone who has spent decades learning exactly how much a surface can hold.
