David Kenworthy

David Kenworthy works at the intersection of material and memory - combining traditional woodworking to epoxy resin casting to produce furniture and objects of quiet, lasting presence. Based in Cinderford, deep within the Forest of Dean, his practice is shaped by the landscape around him: its textures, its shadows, the way light moves through natural forms.

His river tables - wide slabs of wood bisected by resin cast in deep, translucent colour - have become something of a signature. Each one begins with the wood itself, its grain and character dictating what follows. The result is functional, but not merely so.
